Hello guys,
I bought new external bluetooth for my laptop and I have problems with sending files from laptop into my mobilephone. I am sure all the settings are correct and all devices are paired. But when I want to transfer a file from my laptop into the mobilephone, it is not working at all, it keeps saying "FTP select a device". I am sure the device is selected, I have tried to press spacebar on the device, but it did not help although it said the device is selected, after pressing "send button" still the same error appears. I do not want to use a cable for transfering files. Oh and I forgot to mention that transfering works the other way which means I can transfer files from my mobile phone into the laptop.
Thank you in advance and I really appreciate your help.
Have a nice day and thanks to all.
When using the widcom drivers, i've actually had to left click the device that I want to send files to; i'm sure that your screenreader of choice will let you send a left click.
I'm having similar problems actually locating the think outside drivers I need on my Nokia N70 mobile phone, for my nNokia N70 mobile phone so I can pair my Igo stowaway keyboard with it. Is anyone on The Zone using a Bluetooth keyboard with their phone? Where did they get the drivers and how did they install them directly to the phone using Talks?
Jen.
For one thing, what device are you going to be using. I am an expert on technology, so I can help you.
You are using an external adapter, and are using a software, right? The questions, will it be accessible with your screen reader. What screen reader are you using.
I am using a blue inernal which comes built into my netbook, I have been able to pair up devices and do things.
It sounds like you installed their software.
You basically don't need it as once you put on the drivers Windows XP / Vista / 7 will create a Bluetooth Devices icon in Control Panel. You then use the tools from Windows Explorer to operate it.
You are right about device pairing because that provides you the security for the file transfer.
I've got a USB nub so will have to look into it and get you some real steps but uninstall whatever proprietary software they have first, and let it run as a generic USB bluetooth device.
Take the device off your computer, uninstall their software, restart three times and then make sure their folders are removed from Program Files.
Modern versions of both Windows and OS X Leopard all support bluetooth out of the box. As I said I'll get you steps unless someone else who's doing this on a regular basis fixes it for you first.
Well, I come into this problem myself when I try to transfer files from phone to computer or the other way around.
Have you tried starting Bluetooth again. Do this on the laptop and the phone. If it doesn't help, message me, and I will help you the best I can.
